S&W GOVERNOR!(Like The Judge)
I just was looking at S&W's website today and notice they have something called the Governor,I never heard of it before, but it's just like the Taurus Judge! It also comes with 6rnd and 2rnd moon clips for .45 acp also so it can shoot .410,.45LC and .45acp all in the same cylinder.I wouldn't buy a Judge but I would buy this!Anyone seen this gun before?

I have seen it, held it, but not fired it. A little smaller than a Judge, feels good in the paw, and a more reliable name. Price is under $700 or $650, thereabouts.
It could be someone's answer to in-home personal security/defense firearm, who does not want the length of a shotty, and would still be able to shoot .410 buck/00 loaded rounds with a handgun and .45 acp ammo, 2 birds, one stone...or a woods carry, critter gun.

I want it.I was thinking about getting a .44 mag as a dual purpose nightstand/deer hunting backup, but with the 44 I will shoot it less,44 mag ammo is insane, and good luck finding .44 spl ammo.At least with this gun,I think no matter where I go i'll be able to find some fuel for the thing.

Its not cut for moonclips is the only reason.
You could have it cut aftermarket and it would work, presuming you could find the appropriate moonclips.

I wonder what the accuracy would be like shooting 45acp. That bullet is going to be jumping a LONG way before it hits the forcing cone.

I had the same thoughts. Be interesting to know if someone here has fired it.

That's a good point. Also, I just don't see a use for this weapon. I really don't. If its home defense why does it have to have a 2 3/4" barrel, I'd rather have a 18.5" or 20" 12 Gauge.
It is larger to carry and less effective then a .357 revolver with 6 rounds, as a matter of fact it has the same frame as the 8-shot 357 from S&W. Furthermore, if you miss those OOO buck pellets could hit mutliple people other then the intended target.

You would have one hell of a spread right away with the .410. Tat in itself makes it a great home defense tool.

It's been out for a while. It seems like it'll have a nitch with lots of folks that flat out refuse to let a Taurus within 50 ft. of their safe (myself included), but dig the idea of being able to spray shot out of a hand-held firearm. Most people trust a Smith. . .
