Default S&W 642 vs 686P - DA Trigger Pull comparison

I wonder if anyone owns both the 642 Airweight and the the 686P L frame. How do the Double Action (DA) trigger pulls compare? Is the 686P smoother and lighter?

I ever handled the 642 in a shop but found it has a heavy long pull, which is much more stiffer than the HK P30 LEM trigger. Sorry, I'm comparing an orange to an apple.

What's experience with the 642 DAO trigger? Will it get smoother with usage?

Thanks for sharing.

Yep two different pistols, I don't own a 686, I do own a 586 (same in blue) and own a 642. My 586 has a 6" barrel, my 642 has a 1 7/8" barrel. The 586 has a full grip, the642 is a half grip. The 586 is an all steel pistol, the 642 is 50% aluminum. Hard to honestly compare trigger, two truly different pistols IMHO. The two I have far different uses.

No Idea how the 642 compares to a HK? I can say for the intended need the 642 is a fine pistol, like any snub nose revolver one you will have to practice with often to get the feel of.

The trigger on the J frame (642) will be heavier than the L frame (686). This is due to the design of the mainspring.
