Tuned out to be a false alarm. The gun was marked 29-1 but turned out to be a 629-1. Thought I had a good find for a little while.

That's an excellent price for a clean 629-1.

That is still a good price for a 629-1. What barrel length?

Looks like 6 1/2". I did not measure it. Has Hogue grips and a very decent trigger. Not so clean so I dont know how well it was taken care of. Cylinder lock up looks good. Looks like a couple of minor scuffs. I did not see any erosion on the top strap. No box or wooden grips. He is asking $630 but I think I could get it for $600 OTD. My wife is a upset with the number of guns and ammo I have been buying and trading. We sometimes park our RV in bear country and thought this might be handier than the 12 gauge in the trailer if one got in.

I don't want to burst your bubble but I paid $475 OTD for this one. 8 3/8 629-1 with the factory box.

Default Not a 29-1

That's about right for a 629-1, but JTJ first post said a 29-1 which is a totally different animal according to my S&W catalog, very valuable and if it was a nickel model 2 to 3 times the value

Yes but he later stated it was a 629-1 and the guy was asking $630.

Yeah by the 12th post he did correct the model, right after my post (4th) I sent a PM asking for the Gunshops contact info, because occasionally you can pick up on a real good deal
