S&w 22-4

Anyone have an opinion on this gun? It shoots 45 ACP which seems really cool and convenient to me. Might be a nice compliment to 1911s. Are they accurate and reliable? There is a used one available, but don't know too much about them. It isn't perfect, but if their good shooters I might roll the dice.

I really, really like the N frame Smiths. I currently have a Model 28, and in the past also had the Model 25, which shot the 45 LC. One of the most accurate revolvers I have ever owned.

I haven't ever owned the model 22, but I would jump at the chance to pick one up at a reasonable price.

I would too. It's extremely hard to go wrong with a S&W wheel gun.

does the M22 use the moon clips?

and i agree, it's really hard to go wrong with any S & W revolver.

Well damn! I didn't pick it up today since I was already buying my new Colt. I took a quick peak at it, and was tempted. Price seems decent and I know the shop has had it around for a while. They've lowered the price $100 since my last visit. If I go get it tomorrow it may cause some serious marital strife. 😥

Or tell her its an investment that you can turn money in in a little while. Which is prolly true. Smith wheel guns hold their value well. But that doesn't mean you need to have any plans to sell it.

I'm fairly sure all 45ACP wheel guns use moon clips.

i am thinking they do as well. but it seemed there were some thatdidn't require moon clips. just can't recall which one, or if it was even a S & W that i was thinking about.
