should be able to find something relating to my hometown
I had the 45 Vacqueros and loved them, and a 1873 also in .45. Only to find out the 1873 was not available in .45 in 1873. It bothered me not being authentic. You will have a ball playing cowboy run and gun. Good luck!

authentic doesnt matter to me. the idea is just to get back into a shooting competition!! especially with a caliber i like.

Just be sure to roll your "R" with a lilt to it when saying Corazon. I don't blame you for detesting "Jonny", I would feel the same way if my name lent itself to that (it doesn't). In working with kids over the years when I am introduced to a kid that has a "Junior-ized" name like Johnny or Timmy, Billy or that sort of condescending name I will ask them in total seriousness if they would prefer me to call them by the "grown up" version of their name. Most every time they will say that the child version is "OK" and I will ask again which one they would prefer that I call them.

9 times out of 10 they will go for the "older" name and it makes them feel ten feet tall. Usually it is the first time they have been asked which they preferred.

I'm Jon also and I HATE being called Johnny, Jon-Jon, Jack etc. My parents never called me anything but Jon (unless I was in trouble then it was Jonathan). I don't let anyone get away with calling me Johnny, I find it very disrespectful.

it is disrepectful. the only person who could call me that was my grandfather who barely spoke english and called my "jonny" in czech. from him it was totally ok.

I had one Aunt who called me Jon-Jon and from her it was OK, she was one of the sweetest women to walk the earth. I got in more school yard fights over being called Johnny than I can remember.
