The top strap is thicker in Super Blackhawks. Also the unfluted cylinder.

Again, I will disagree with you. I just measured the topstraps of two of my Super Blackhawks, and two of my .45 Colt Blackhawks. The results:

Gun Thick. Width

Super Blackhawk

80-36XXX .252" .609"
87-36XXX .253" .620"

Blackawks

47-82XXX .251" .622"
47-10XXX .258" .604"

As to the fluted cylinder, note that the 5 1/2" Super Blackhawk has the fluted cylinder.

I have a Super Blackhawk in 357 mag with a 9mm conversion cylinder. You're right, I do find the sights a bit too wide, but I've gotten used to them. All I can say is mine is a great gun. good luck

I have a Super Blackhawk w/10.5" barrel. I've tried several grips over the years, but always put the stock ones back on again.

Have you tried Cary Chapman's grips? They are a work of art and in some of the handsomest woods.

These are mesquite form CaryC:
