Ruger SP101 or S&W Model 60?

I'm gonna be in the market for a new sidearm and was wanting one of these two revolvers. I was wondering how these two wieghed out with everyone here. I would like to get the 3" barrel version, but I'm not sure how well that would carry everyday. Any thoughts, good or bad on these two would be appreciated.

I don't think Ruger makes a 3" SP101. My wife's SP101 has a 2.25" barrel. The SP101 is easy for me to carry IWB. I am sure there are holsters that will lift the SP 101 high enough to carry it OWB with a normal shirt. My wife carries it in a belly band holster most of the time.

They make one. It's not as easy to find as the 2.25" barrel, but they're out there.

The 3" is halfway down the page.

Do a search for a S&W Model 19-3 (.357 COMBAT MAGNUM) in 2 1/2" (round butt, disc. 1998), or a 4" (square butt). You will be happy with one of these vintage Smiths.

I'm actually looking at a model 66 2.5" right now. :-)

Ruger if it's mainly for .357, S&W if mostly for .38 Special.

I have a 3” .357 in Ruger SP101 and S&W 60 Pro. I like both of them. I have to admit the Smith came with a better trigger and better sights, but after working the trigger of the 101 and adding J frame sights to it, and adding a Trausch grip to the Ruger and a Pachmayr Decelerator grip to the Model 60, the only difference becomes the weight; my 101 with the Trausch grips weighs 28.2 oz. and the Model 60 weighs 24.8 oz. with the Pacymayrs. Both shoot very well. Both are about equally “pleasant” to shoot with full power loads. I tend to shoot less than full power loads in both just for my comfort.
