Ruger Security Six Question
I have a Ruger Security Six (stainless, 6" barrel), and I'm trying to figure out if something is wrong with it or not.
With the hammer forward, and my finger off the trigger, should I be able to rotate the cylinder in a clockwise direction (as viewed from the rear)? It doesn't rotate freely. That is, I have to overcome a little bit of resistance, at which point it "clicks", and then it will rotate until the latch catches the next notch in the cylinder. If I put any pressure at all on the trigger, which pushes the cylinder latch upward, it locks up tight. Is this normal? None of my other revolvers seem to exhibit this behavior.
Looking at the cylinder latch, it seems to be just slightly beveled, which makes it seem like it's supposed to do that. But I don't know if the cylinder latch is supposed to be beveled, or if maybe it's worn.
What do you think?
