I'm thinking about getting a Ruger LCR 22 for carrying while fishing. Mainly for shooting snakes and such. I like that the small frame should make for easy carry. I've never been a fan of D. A. only but the trigger seemed pretty smooth. Anybody have any experience with the LCR's

I have the LCR in 38spl +p and it is a great little revolver. I'd pick one up in .22lr of I didn't already have a Ruger Single Six.

Thanks guys. My mom is taking her CCW class soon. She doesn't have a lot of experience so I'm thinking this might be a good starter gun for a grandmother also. LOL thanks for replies.

Absolutely a wonderful gun... My mom is 66 and and she gave up her glock 26 for the LCR 38 then I got her the LCR for Xmas and its awesome.. I loved so much I bought me one the next day and the LCR 38 ....

I have the LCR-22 and I think it's about the perfect tackle box gun. It's lightweight but can handle being knocked around. The concealed hammer will help keep the innards clean, and it's fun to shoot and very accurate once you get used to it.

I have the .357 and love it. My only problem with it is that I have to share it with my wife . It's her main carry.

Well I bought one two days ago and took it out today. I was very pleased with the accuracy after getting used to the trigger. I had a few rounds that didn't fire Federal lead round nose. Went through several rounds of Win. Super X plated HP and no problems same with some Rem. 22 shorts. I give the little LCR a thumbs up.

By the way I just read yesterday that they are now making them available in .22 mag.

I have an lcr in .38. I really like it, but I think it kicks a lot. It's ok for me. I saw this review on youtube by gunblast.com who suggests getting a .22 to practice with due to cheaper ammo. I liked the idea and went out shopping, but none are to be found due to the latest gun ban scare. That magnum model really sounds great. I would go for it if I could find it. They are great guns.

Just bought the lcr in 38 special and love it. Compact, lite and quite accurate for a snub. Most of all the trigger pull is very smooth and light for a double action only revolver. I'd for sure go with the 22 mag. A lot more power than the lr model. Although the trigger pull on either of the 22 models are not as smooth and light as the 38 or 357 models.
