Great choice I have an sp101,really the only thing you need is a few extra speedloaders and maybe a hogue grip and your in business. As far as ammo goes for plinking I Just shoot whatevers cheapest and keep it loaded at home with .357mag gold dots

I shoot winchester white box from walmart because im accurate with it and its available everywhere around me. FMJ for target and JHP for self defence. And my oldlady likes to shoot .38s and those are also available around me everyday of the week. Also from what the guys at my local gun store tell me the winchester rounds are really high quality. But walmart is the cheapest place around me to buy that brand. I have only had my revolver for about two months and this is my first handgun. Thats at 10yards with no rest.

Your gonna DIG that pistol..! Some really good rounds for self defense are actually made for the lever action rifles, they have a soft red pointed tip (so the round ahead of it doesn't have the primer go off in the tube) and have really good penetration and expansion. I Think it's called Leverevolution..? and is made by Hornady, Its a 140 grain flex tip ammo. Midway has it, but you just have to type in "leverevolution" in the search box on the home page. There are also trijicon night sights or their alternatives, like meppro. Oh almost forgot speed loaders, practice with them, the sppedloaders also have their own holsters as well. There are also some back packs that make great range bags too, Have fun and be safe.

You'll run out of ammo quick..!

In the ear, over the ear, anthing is better than nothing. I have an over the ear set with an internal speaker. Any noise over a certain decibel the speaker shuts off and they work just like regular ear muffs, when it's on, it's like you're not even wearing them. I don't know the name brand, it's not even printed on the set or I'd post a link...not even sure what they're called...
