i was looking at the 6" model at my LGS for $620 and was comfortable with the price. the MSRP on the one i was looking at was $759. so i was very comfortable with the price.

Stainless? If yes that is at the top of the price range.

Gunbroker.com is great for researching prices.

Here is a 5 inch, $575 + shipping+ FFL gets you to about $625 to $650, so your local price is competitive.

The price is a little high. $599 is about tops for a standard GP100 around here. The Wiley Clapp edition does bring more.

Well the thing was my wife really wants t0 learn how to shoot so we're looking at it primarily for her. We loaded one with 38s. She likes how she can get her pinky on the grip. There were some cheaper options but she didn't like them.
