I hate to tell you guys this but you can find them a heck of a lot cheaper then $550. I picked one up new for $475 out the door and not long ago got a 6" used for $400 from a forum. Do some shopping guys, you'll save a bit.

They are great pistols though!

I picked up my GP100 a couple years ago for $400 used, but like new condition.
Gunbroker has a 4 in stainless at $425 starting bid and no reserve here Ruger GP100 Stainless *NIB* all paperwork 4" .357 : Revolvers at GunBroker.com.
Cheaper that Dirt has the 6 in for $526.22 here 70260 - Ruger GP100 Double-Action Revolver .357 Remington Magnum 6" Barrel 6 Rounds Black Hogue Monogrip Stainless Finish.

I have found that a lot of the time you can find the best deals online and if you buy "out of state" you don't pay tax, just shipping and transfer fee.

The GP100 is a very nice gun, and built to last a life time. I have 2, 4 inchers, one is stainless the other blue.

Love them both!

Default GP100 trigger springs

I recently ordered a Wilson Spring kit for my GP100 4" Stainless. It had such a hard pull action. With the new spring it is very easy yet firm and much more accurate. It has a spurless hammer and PacMar grips but I really like it. I gave 365.00 for it from a pawn shop and it showed no wear at all. Great gun.

I'll never buy another one. The one that I show in post #17 should never have left the factory. I won't buy another revolver of any make unless I look at it with a bore light first.

Went to the range today before work and got about 175 rounds off, and i know for a fact that i don't like the remmington ammo that i bought. But the winnchester ammo i tried works well for me. Most of my shooting was at 10-12 yards. And a couple that were 25 yards, but i won't even talk about those today. It took a little bit to figure out what worked best for my shooting style but im getting there. That was 12 rounds at 12 yards And about 30 minutes of practice. That's my best one i had a few on other targets that were pretty random but i didn't take them ones with me.

Got my 6" at MC Sports for 579. The 4" was same price.

I bought my 4" SS from a local shop, used but unfired, for $500 which at the time was more than what I found on line but pretty good for Maryland.
If you don't mind a used gun you can find some pretty good deals at auctionarms.com.
