Ruger flat top grips

I recently purchased a Ruger flat top .44 special. It's all I hoped it would be, except the skinny plastic grips. Since it's based on the old smaller frame .357 flat top, many grips out there don't fit right. I would like to find some meatier wood stocks. Can any one give me some pointers?

Some of the finest Ruger grips come form Cary Chapman:

Also from Collinscraft Grips:

Both of these makers use choice wood, with oil finish, using Tru-Oil, I believe.

There are others, but most of these use stabilized wood which is o.k. but lacks the feel of good oil finished grips.

For something a little more exotic try:

Sounds like he's wanting some old Herrett's. ;)
