Default Imho....

You will NEVER regret a Ruger single action purchase!! Nothing else on the market compairs in terms of reliablity and customer service. I have Vaqueros in 45 colt... consecutive serial numbers from the factory... 40th birthday gift from my beautiful wife!!
If your considering a Ruger single action... Why not a convertable???

I would go with a Vaquero myself, more traditional than the Blackhawk. Now seeing as I already own a Vaquero in .45 Colt, I'm STRONGLY considering one of these is .357

This is a true statement. I have repaired a fence with my Super Blackhawk. You couldn't see any scratches when I got it back from Ruger's refinishing shop.

The Vaquero is a very handsome gun. If you plan to use the gun for hunting the vaquero does not have adjustable sights. It's a BBQ gun.

Uberti and Cimarron both make "cowboy" guns in .357. I own both, plus Ruger. Like them all. Ruger is heaver and stronger, but the other two are more historically accurate. The Blackhawk has adjustable sights the other two fixed.

I have an older Ruger Super Blackhawk chambered in .44 magnum and it's one of my favorite guns I own. I would highly recommend the Blackhawk.
