On revolvers, I am kind of partial to the S&W.
I have not looked at Rossi too much. Every time I have though, I like the way they are put together, but am turned off by the looks.

I could be wrong, but I thought that Taurus bought Rossi. I would hate to venture a guess on the quality being dedicated to Rossi now.

I used to have the mod.462 Rossi in 357,2" barrel and it was a fine gun.I have heard of people having firing pin issues but I never did.I paid about $325 brand new.

Guess the price would be the deciding factor-
I've owned several Rossi DA revolvers & they fired every time-
More than i can say about the Taurus's i've owned :o

I baught one of the Rossi 357mags for my mother a year or so ago, it was second hand but in good condition. Taurus does own Rossi but that's about the only difference is the parent company from what I've seen. Slicking up these revolvers is fairly easy if you know what you're doing. The only problem I've had with the Rossi I own is the rough and tight chambers. After firing the casings stick pretty bad. After a good bit of rounds, upward of 600 rounds of 38 and 357s, that's still the only problem I've seen with the revolver. But that's just my .02 cents.

I don't have any experience with Rossi but I have put many thousands of rounds through various S&W and Colt magnums with never a glitch. (heavy framed minimum 4" barrel seems best for magnums)

Just my opinion.
