Nice gp by the way. If you don't like the heavy factory double action trigger pull you can look into Wilson combats trigger spring kit. Its not too expensive and makes a world of difference.

This may not be the best venue for this question, but rather than waste a new thread, here goes...
I was talking with a retired police friend of mine about my new GP100. He recalled a story to me about when a Ruger rep brought a GP100 to his department in an attempt to convince them to purchase them as their new service pistol. He explained that this was during the time when the last bit of hold out departments were moving from revolvers to autos so the rep was hitting it pretty hard. He had a GP100 with a steel plate welded to the end of the barrel and donned welding gloves and a face shield and then proceeded to "stack" 6 .357 rounds in the barrel by firing one by one. The barrel did not burst or bulge.
I was in disbelief but this is a man I have never known to sew a false tale.
In scouring the inter web I have found no such related test. Anyone hear of such a thing? Off the wall completely?
Go ahead and shoot at me for hijacking the thread with nonsense...

I've read that Rugers are friggin tanks, and dang near impossible to blow up, but that is taking things to a whole new level.

Also I did some fiber optics and those helped a lot too with sight alignment.

I was looking at sight options. Mostly rear because I hate dropping my guns off at a smith to have front sights installed. Then I discovered that Ruger took the difficulty of removing the front sight of the GP100 right out of the equation. Holy crap Ruger. You sure thought of everything... damn I love this gun...
