Thanks & sorry for my slow reply. Yes, there's a connection...DW made the MK II (service) & MK III (target) .357 Sentinels for High Standard for about 2.5 years, from 1973 thru early 1975. All of the other Sentinel models in HS's line were all made by HS.
DW dropped the Porkchop shroud sometime in early-'75 to the more standard straight shroud style & that ended the collaboration between the two companies.

Here's the DW Model 14 on the left & the MK II on the right. Both are service models, with fixed sights & matte finish.

I've owned many revolvers over the years, most of them I really liked except for an RG 44 mag DA which I got rid of like it had the plague. I sort of miss the 6" 357 mag. Security Six, but my all time favorite is my 7 1/2" 44 mag. Redhawk with the 44 Bulldog next. This Redhawk has put more venison in the freezer than any rifle I have owned.

My two wheel guns. Ruger super redhawk 454 casull/45colt and smith 686 357/38.
The 454 is a silly cartridge loaded hot, unless you encounter a t-rex.

Im down to three, was up to 7 at one time.

Colt New Frontier .22lr has seen better days. dad bought it new in 65 for $66 when he was 14. Gave it to me when I turned 14. It went through a house fire back in the early 80's. Dad was broke, pawned it in my great uncles pawn shop. Dad never paid the ticket so my uncle sold it. Not only did he own the pawn shop, he owned 29 rental units. And he was a deputy. He got caled into one of his units to serve a warrant, they entered and the kitchen had caught fire(dopers) and under the remains of the kitchen table was this colt. So my uncle cleaned it up, put new grips on it and gave it back to my dad. I didnt want anyone thinking I had allowed this thing to be abused, hence its ugly ass appearance. Still shoots like new.

My H&R American Double Action .38 S&W. Bought it 5 years ago for $40 as a disgusting rustball. Cleaned it up, reblued bith Oxpho-blue, respringed and put new(used) grips on it and shoot it ever now and again.

And my beloved Smith 60 .357. Theres a place in every gunsafe for a snubby 357.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

I've had an email sent to me with pics of a guy in Alaska that was out walking his dog and encountered a grizzly which came after him, I seem to remember reading that the hand gun he shot it with was a Ruger in 454 Casull. I was in a gun shop a few years ago and a guy came in and bought a Ruger in 454 Casull, he was moving to Alaska to do some contracting and his work was in bear areas. The 454 may be good for t-rex's as you wrote but if I faced a grizzly I'd rather have it than my 44 mag if all I was able to carry was a revolver. My guess is that a 44 mag may only piss a bear off unless I could shoot his eyes out, but with a huge adrenaline flow from close encounter with a bear ten times my weight coming after me, I think the last thing I could hit would be it's eyes.

Default Current love affair

Just finished building a Steel Challenge gun. 627 S&W Pro w/ my own trigger job via the Jerry Miculek DVD and Wolf springs. Just over 5 lb pull and smooth. Weigand mount, red dot sight and Hogue Big Butt grip.
