the s&w will have a better trigger and the rugers are built extra strong, either one would be a good pick.

Just realized that was a Seahawks Jersey on your Avatar Overkill,..and Your right about the Dan Wesson,..I have almost never used the 8,10, and 12" Barrels(the 12 has a nice scope mounted on it tho), just the 5 & 6" ones...If I were to carry it as a daily Carry I'd have to put it on a Western Belt, Or in a shoulder rig. I have a chest Hunters rig I carry it in,..but that is only when we're out in da "Bush"(desert)... I do Like to rotate the Grips Tho...

Yeah, go Hawks! 9 & 1, Woo Hoo!
In 1981, mine came w/ 2 1/2", 4", 6" & the 8." When It was new, we played w/ all the different barrels some. Then we stuck the 8" w/ a 2x Leupold on it, and it was my Hunter's Pistol Silhouette setup until I left for the USAF. Since I inherited it, I've felt no need to change the barrel to any other length. The other barrels are in pristine condition.
