dallascj,

you knew you were shooting something with the bulldog, but i didn't find it objectionable at the time. i never hot-rodded the loads, preferring a 215 gr. cast bullet loaded to about 700 fps.

bullet technology has improved enough that i now rely on 9mm or .38 spec+p for carry.

Thanks, Budman. I haven't started reloading yet, and I am just getting into the .44 Special. I may have to be on the lookout for a CA in .44 though.

I have 2 taurus revolvers right now that i carry... Public Defender and 605... about 200 shells through the PD and 500 through the 605 and no problems what so ever, 605 is fairly easy to conceal, PD is not to bad just have to wear a little baggier shirt...

xtremexb9:

i think of the judge/defender line as bedroom gun because of their size...if i could conceal it on my person, i'd rather a 4" s&w mod 27 in one of it's 8-shot variations.

a 605 in a pocket holster is what i usually carry, but an iwb-concealed browning hi-power works well too.

I got lucky a couple years ago and won an auction on Action arms for a Taurus 605 blue with a 3 inch barrel. The gun was like brand new, at the most it had maybe 10 or 15 rounds through it. The trigger was ok on it, but the wolf spring set fixed that right up. I really like the big difference the 3 inch barrel makes in shooting the pistol especially with 357 mag rounds.(still has a good bite when shot) Hard to believe that 1 extra inch makes that big a difference but it does. I carry with 357 mag Remington Golden Saber loaded and 38 special +P in Safari speed loaders. If I do my part it easily shoots minute of man out to 25 yds easy. At lesser ranges it is very accurate.
The only drawback to the 3 inch barrel is finding a good holster for it. I got lucky and found one made for the Ruger SP101 that fits like a glove. The 605 is one of my back up guns for my EDC. I have had zero issues with it and it is very reliable. I named her Mata Hari.. deceptively sweet looking, works well undercover and deadly to be on the wrong side of in fight. Taurus builds a great revolver IMHO no matter what the naysayers have to say! Very hard to beat for the money!

to everyone there own... i carry them both depending on weather and also have a few much smaller 380 pocket pistols...

the newest version of the PD is not to bad to carry in colder weather, i load with 2 shells and 3 45lc's so do have some accuracy rounds if needed...
