A great firearm! I hope I'm not offending , but when you remove the side plate to clean it note that it is the side that the cylinder latch is on that comes off. Because of this, that side plate is frighteningly thin. After you have removed the grips and the screws, gently tap the grip on the opposite side with a hard rubber hammer (or plastic) holding the plate side down. Make sure your hand is under the side plate to catch it. DO NOT PRY! It may take a little while, but gently keep tapping - it will come off. At this point you will see I'm not crazy.
To replace the side plate, turn the gun so the side plate is up and again tap on the opposite side. Use mostly gravity and the slightest finger pressure. When the side plate drops into place, then put the screws in.
