price of new sp101?

i went this morning to get a taurus 605 for $360+tax, while in the shop the guy said why not get the ruger sp101 for not much more. i asked his low dollar out the door for a new sp101, the casing envelope is dated february 2nd 2012. he came back and said $460otd well for less than $100 difference i got the ruger. did i do ok? was that a good price? i know i'm happy with the gun, but i haven't fired it yet. thanks

Think you did better than ok. The SP101 sets the mark for ruggedness and durability...the Taurus may be a fine pistol but its no Ruger. JMHO.

How about some pics and a range report.

Outstanding price. I see them for close to $600. Change the springs out and it will have an extremely nice trigger.

I bought mine not too long ago for &529 OTD,so I'd say you did real good. You'll love the sp101,I know I love mine. If you got the three inch barrel,I would pick up the houge grips for it they transfer the energy more into your forearm than wrist. If You got the 2.25 inch barrel I think badger grips make for a great look for a small compact powerhouse of a pocket gun

I bought a new Ruger SP101 (.357 mag) with a 2 1/4 inch barrel for $400.

Me and my oldlady bought her father one on saturday for $500 and around me thats a fair price. I own a Gp100 and love it, so the Sp101 should be a great weapon also. It was the 2 1/4 inch if that helps.

I picked up a 4.2 inch barrel sp101 for $509 a few weeks ago. The factory grips are kind of small but it is a rugged gun.

Great gun for a great price! I paid a bit more for my SP101 3" barrel and Hogue grip (my daily carry firearm) and I'm happy I got it. You can't go wrong for that price: the quality and durability is first-rate.
