Shooting these rounds out of a SW27 (6.5", 47 oz) at 25 yards and the .38+P (135gr@860) is going to center but the .357Mg rounds (125@1450) are clustering about 3" to the left, level with center. This must be recoil-related operator error -- what to fix? thanks...

I bet you are a right strong side. Correct?

My guess....flinch.

Load one cylinder with a snap-cap or just empty. Spin the wheel (Deer Hunter style ) and shoot, with concentration on the front sight including follow-through.

On the benign trigger pull did the sight picture change?

Your round goes where the muzzle is at the drop of the hammer.

Does the trigger have excessive take up?

My G22 has so much that I acquire the target three times before the damn thing goes off!

I agree with Canebrake. Despite my best intentions, I have an occasional tendency to flinch when firing the big boys out of my .357.

Annoying.

A drill we used to do with basic revolver training was called Ball and Dummy. Load with less than 6 (2-3 rounds) concentrate on making slow deliberate shots double action. The problem will become painfully obvious after just a few rounds.

Canebreak and Robocop10mm pretty much nailed it. I had the same problem when I started shooting .357's.

I loaded the gun with three dummies and three live rounds, the problem became "painfully obvious" as Robocop said. Once you see it, you can fix it.

my personally I worked on my grip and I'm pretty much spot on.

I can't speak to the revolver question, but I once had a similar problem when switching from .45 ACP ball ammunition to .45 ACP +P ammunition.

I wasn't flinching, but I was changing my grip a little in anticipation of the heavier recoil, and that pulled my group to the right. So grip was my problem.
