Newbie seeking advice
I have an opportunity to purchase a Ruger wheel gun (not sure if it a redhawk or blackhawk at the moment) in 44 mag SS. I have seen it and it looks like its never been shot. I know the person who owns it and he takes care of everything. I was wondering if the $300 he wants for it is a good price, a ripoff, or a steal. Thanks in advanced for everything.

There is a world of difference between a Blackhawk and a Redhawk. The Blackhawk is single action, the Redhawk is double action. $300. sounds about right for a used Blackhawk. If it's a Super Blackhawk, it's an even better price. If it's a Redhawk, it's an outright steal.
So, if it's in excellent condition, the price ranges from fair to possibly outstanding.
Head over to the New Member introductions area and introduce yourself to the folks.

Non-Super Blackhawk is not available in 44 mag, or at least not currently. The Redhawk (DA) and Super Blackhawk (SA) are the two Ruger .44's. Either way you're getting a phenomenal deal, so if the gun, whichever model it actually is, appeals to you, jump on it.

Well I did find out that it is a DA. What I don't know is if it is a redhawk or a super redhawk. Beautiful firearm, I was thinking of doing some hunting with it this next hunting season. thanks again.

There is a HUGE difference in these Revolvers!
Either one is a BARGAIN at $300.00!
I have a Super Redhawk and a Redhawk, and both are deadly accurate especially with a scope.

And a few of my "other" Ruger 44's...
Ruger's are just hard to beat for the buck.

Never apologize for gun porn, mate!
To the OP, $300 is a great price for a .44 mag Ruger, whatever the model, in the condition you describe. Can you get some pics?
