Just use the 38 +p, as your gun is rated for them. A non expanding bullet is a non expanding bullet. There is very little difference in their terminal performance even if some have some sharper edges than others.

Yes and no, penetration would be similar but getting hit with a wadcutter is like getting hit with a tiny Coke can, no rounded tip to slide past arteries, rather it will cut.

I havethe same gun just a little more wear lol. Ive loaded mine with standard velocity hornady critical defence. I know thegun is rated for +p but I shoot alot and dont want to put undue stress on it. 5 rounds of anything and I think your probably going to stop thr threat. Heck most the time I carry a naa mini mag so the 637 is mystep up gun. Also it is a light weight alloy frame just because something will shoot a +p round dont know if id practice it much.

No bullet slides past arteries. A sleek bullet can deflect by a sloped bone structure.
