Default New Ruger SP101

Hi all,
I bought my new Ruger SP101 .357mag 2 1/4" , last week.

Heres a photo of it new:

With new wood grip inserts, HKS speed loaders, trigger job and Wolff springs, light dehorn and trigger face polished.

Nice SP. I like the stock boot grip of the SP101 as well because you can customize it and still keep the same basic feel of the original grip. Nice looking inserts, where'd you pick'em?

Here's mine:

Thanks I also bought a Hogue rubber grip, it does feel real nice. But it is just a bit too large, not for my hands, just that it takes away from the "compactness" of this sweet little Ruger

The grip inserts, I bought off of Ebay. The wood is Afzelia Xlay.

the sellers name is "getreadygetset".

Also , there is a guy "41 Magnum" over on one of the Ruger forums that supposed to make really nice grip inserts, I might try a set.

I have a pair of SP101's and I really like them. The factory grips are actually pretty good unlike many other manufacturers. I got both of mine used with extra grips so I've been able to do some experimenting. The seriously ugly grips in this picture are made by Trautsch and they are very comfortable with magnum loads - wish they were the black ones though. Here's a link to their website:

Welcome

You, my friend, have selected a fine weapon that will give you years of reliable service. I've had one just like yours for several years now and couldn't be happier with it.

Looks ten times better with the new inserts. Congrats on the 101. They are great little revolvers.
