Your right, it did blow off.
Looks to me like it has been broken for awhile.
Ruger will take care of it, and the rep has heard of that before.

Barrel
For Ruger to touch it all parts would have to be returned to them. It does look to have been cracked for some time from the pics. WOW...Still got all the pink wiggleys?

That barrel has been working on coming for a while now. Every time you shot it the crack spread until it couldn't hold anymore....at least thats what it looks like. I'd send it to Ruger.
