I just wrote to David Valenze email@example.com
about a Model 36 I have and he told me the year it was made. Just provide the serial number and the gun model number with your email and he should be able to help you.
As for value check the gun auction pages, it'll depend on several factors, condition, age, any extra's on it, ect ... they generally run from about $300.00 to $600.00 for used ones unless it's engraved or something special.
Good luck ..
