I just purchased the S&W 638 today for my wifes Birthday . She got to shoot a 642 and liked it so I thought that being as it was DAO she might like the 638 being DA / SA and being a shrouded hammer it wont get in the way with a holster . Came with a Black grip and a Pink grip so she can put on what ever she feels like and if she doesnt like it It will wear the black grip and I will put it to good use . Found it new on GB for $398

Congrats. I had a similar issue with an older Smith 57 some years back. Gunsmith took care of it himself. $25 service fee. But that was almost 25 years ago. Wound up trading it in for something else....
