Not many that i'm aware of. You could change out the grips, or send it to a gunsmith for a trigger job or barrel porting. Personally i wouldn't do either of those though, i think the 686 is pretty close to perfect as is.

If you tired of it, send it my way. I'll even cover shipping.

Insert in the front sight, black out the rear notch (unless you already have an insert and adjustable rear). Different finishes available out there. Reduced weight trigger return spring...

I can do some trigger smoothing (ask Downsouth), I can also bob your hammer, smooth and radius the trigger face...
Holler if you want my mailing address.

Why would you even THINK about modifying a 686!?!?

I love and have loved mine straight out of the box! About the only thing i WOULD do is (if possible) is lessen the trigger pull poundage....simply to make it D/A shootable for the wife and youngest.

That would be where the reduced weight trigger return spring comes into play. Can be ordered from midway or brownells, and you can swap it yourself.

Spring kit from Wolfe would be a good modification.
Fancy new grips from Ahrends.
Polish job if you like the shiny things.

About the only thing other than that would be to trade it for a Model 66, 627PC, or Python.

I know everyone has different tastes.

I happen to prefer (like) the stock rubber hogue grips, factory sights and the factory sheen.

Keep the porn coming!
