Default LCR vs S&W 642

I'm trying to decide between the 2 but they seem to be almost identical. Even after shooting them both. I like the trigger on the LCR more, but that was the biggest difference. Anybody else know any major differences or pros/cons?

Tough call but the LCR has one of the nicest DA triggers on the market for a stock gun. I would try to find one of each to fire. I have heard some complaints on both from guys with big hands. Check out the reviews on You Tube.

I've shot both, IMHO and I voted with my cash, the Ruger and it's non-stacking, cam action trigger won hands down.

I cant speak for the Ruger as I havent shot one. But I have a 642. Great gun. Mine has a nice trigger. I can shoot it quite accurately for what it is...a snubby.

I'm getting an LCR for me and the wife as soon as I save the cash.

Ye, this gun would primarily be for my wife. My mom carries a 642 so we borrowed that and went to the range and rented the lcr so we could shoot them together. I'm leaning more towards the lcr just for the trigger like I guess some of you guys did. It doesn't seem like there's much difference other than that. What holsters do you guys use for them?

The trigger IS the difference and why I went with the LCR.

I went into my LGS several months ago with the intention of buying an LCR 38. I had owned an LCR 38 and 357 before so I was aware of the difference. The 357 was too sharp for my arthritic wrists. Anyway, my LGS talked me out of the LCR into a 642-1. I've been carrying it almost exclusively for quite a while but still want a LCR so I won a Gunbroker bid for one last weekend and it will be in on Monday. Nothing wrong with the 642, I just like shooting and carrying the LCR better.

I own both, the LCR is my favorite hands down, no contest, it's replaced semi-auto 9's for EDC, I love it, can't say enough about it and every one of my buddies loves it as well.

Remora at 2:00.

It's THE only holster that works in a swim suit! A true hot weather holster that carries extremely well and does not require you to dance-with-the-devil to use it.
