IIRC my LGS said the Public Defender was being discontinued.

In my opinion, the judge is probably best as a range/fun gun. I don't think it's very practical for carry. I've shot it a lot and its fun.

It seems like a fun gun and a snake gun, that's it.

But the circuit judge carbine, I've heard great reviews, and I want to get one once the buying panic dies down.

I think it's an interesting idea and its certainly been a marketing success. I was thinking of getting one myself at one time, but after doing some research I just couldn't find any reliable indication that it was more effective than a gun firing standard JHP while being larger and less suitable for CC.

I can't believe so many of y'all said 410 shell isn't good enough for self defense ..can u kill someone with a 22lr yes u can so what makes u think a 410 can't ? .. Y'all keep bashing the gun and ammo it use but have any of y'all test the gun with the ammo ?? I bet not ! Iv got my wife the poly judge .. Iv shot it and test it out many times.. With in a house the 410 is awesome .. "10 yard u should hit the target every time!"" Ok the 410 isn't accurate like 9mm or 45 acp but if ur trying to shoot some one 10 or + yards then 90% of y'all will miss anyways .. I pray that none of y'all will have a shoot out in y'all house and miss and goes thro the wall and kill someone's child!..this gun was design for up close and personal not to shoot a tick off a dogs but 50yards away..

I usually use the 12" shoot n see targets at the range. When your target is about 7 yards away, shooting #6 birdshot, the entire shoot n see is peppered. The spread at close distances is really big bc of the rifled barrel. Up close these would be devastating, especially with some #4 buck or a PDX round. They are def a man stopper inside 10 yards. I'll say it again, these are meant for fun, snakes, and master bedroom defense.

All I'm saying the judge has plenty of power to stop some one and design for close quarters .. For the one who bashing it probably thinks they need a 44 mag to stop some one.. Just don't under estimate the judge r any other gun

The only thing I'm not too keen on with the judge is because of the rifling, the shot spreads quite a bit. I have noticed that 000 buck groups a hit better than 00 buck.

You're right Rusty, the spread happens crazy fast. Those stupid laws in the NFA keep it from being what it should be, a smoothbore.

I shot a pie tin at 50 ft. Using no.6 shot but it did not go thru it. I used a circect judge. It is more of a "toy" for me ; fun to play with
