It is my first choice for home defense because should it happen, you're talking 15 feet or less normally. At least that's how I view it. At that range with Winchester PDX1's, it's a good close quarter choice. It's also the ugliest gun I like.

Default The Judge

I have owned a Judge with a 6" barrel for several years and have decided it's my bedside defense and mountain carry weapon. That decision wasn't made lightly, I have numerous choices of home defense firearms and I think the Judge is the one for me. I keep it loaded with two rounds of Winchester PDX-1, .410 and three rounds of .45 long colt. Triple 000 buck is also a deadly round in the Judge. I shot a groundhog in my garden, at about 25 feet and it destroyed the head. I fail to understand why some people insist the Judge is a "Snake Gun" or a toy and nothing more. My bet is they don't have one and have never shot one. Just Google "The Judge" and watch the countless videos of hits on melons and pumpkins, and shots through 3/4 inch plywood. Everyone has their favorite gun and that's fine, I just don't see The Judge as only a snake gun, toy, or unfit for home defense. That's just my opinion.
