Iso .357/.38

I'm looking for a reasonably priced 357! I know that's unlikely in the current market but if anyone knows where to find one please point me in the right direction. Would prefer s&w or ruger and not more than 4" barrel..

If you want to take a drive to Oblesby, I know that they have a Model 66 4" officer trade-in for $450. Or you could get a NIB Model 28 4" from 1970 for $600.

I am trying to resist the urge to go buy the 66. If you decide to make the drive, let me know and I'll check one day before you come up that they are still in stock.

Revolver prices are not that bad. I have seen quite a few very good buys. Everyone is focusing on the hi cap semi's.

What's the name of the shop its at? Might be in Marseilles in a few weeks anyways...

Inspect a 66 police trade in very carefully. Especially the top strap. It may be one that was carried much and shot little but it could also be a heavily used weapon depending on the training regimen. The 19 and 66 were never designed for a steady diet of 357 mags. When some departments started training with duty rounds the guns started having problems. This is why the 686 was bought out.

Guns & Ammo on the main street. The 66 is a holster queen. When I looked at it last week there didn't seem to be a mark on it.

I'm trying to avoid the temptation to buy it. It is a good price but I really don't want to add another caliber.

I wouldn't blame you at all for caving and purchasing. If it was closer id go check it out this weekend. But I can't justify a whole tank of gas to look at a gun that might have timing issues etc
