Default Infomation

I have a revolver that has a small barrel, which has stamped BMP .38 cal, 727' and 3/2 tons on the barrel, the cylinder has S.P.T 41 and BMP on it. it shoots the 38S&W. I am looking for infromation on the gun maker and when it was made. Thanks

Pictures would help greatly. The "tons" marking is characteristic of Britain- and a version of the .38 S&W ( the .38/200) was used in the Enfield and Webley revolvers. They looked something like this:

Looks like the picture but has a 2" barrel and spruless hammer will try to get a pic posted

Go HERE:THE NEW RIVER VALLEY OUTDOORSMAN, and scroll about halfway down the LEFT sidebar, and look for the article on the #2 Enfield snubby. Good article, pictures. Cropping the barrels and bobbing the hammer was a civilian mod to a military weapon.
