Cleaning up a Model 29 for a friend. Want to send it back with some info on it for him but i've run into a connumdrum. Maybe someone can chime in. It's what should be a 3 screw because the cylinder lock screw is gone which they started doing after '62, but it still has four screws to hold in the sideplate which makes it fall into an older category. Unless they reintroduced the 4 screw and I'm unaware of that. Although the serial number is post 80's. can anyone help?

Does it have the "lock" above the cylinder release? I believe they re-introduced some 4 screw side plate guns in the "Classic" line.

Check ahead of the cylider at the barrel and see if it is pinned. The pin is looks just like a large pin head and is finished as the firearm (ie blued)
Also the real old models have counter bored cylinders.
