Identifying my grandfather's FBI .38 Special
Hello, all,

My late grandfather was an FBI special agent. Wonderful, wonderful man. I miss him greatly.

He left his Colt Detective Special .38 Special CTG with original holster marked with "FBI" to my father. Since I have developed an interest in target shooting and have earned my CPL, my father has given the revolver to me for my safe keeping.

This is the serial number: 833009. Under the serial # there is also "2 k" or "2 R" marked beneath it.

My father estimates a manufacturing timeframe of 1955 for this model but he's only going by memory.

Any idea on this and it's estimated value? Just want to make sure I know as much as I can about it so I can keep it safe.

Welcome to the FTF. We have an "Introductions" area if you want to stop by.

On Grand-dad's revolver. Is there a way you can post pictures?
