Well now you are REALLY going to like me. I LOVE custome knives but I also love using them and have no problems doing so but with the cost of a Loveless running north of $1,000 I can't justify it to myself as a working knife so this is actually a production knife! It is made for Beretta in Seki, Japan (some of the best blades in the world come out of Seki) under license from R.W. Loveless. It is one of the nicest (definitely the most beautiful) production knife I have ever owned and the price is not that bad! Just under $200. For that money I don't mind getting some deer blood on it and the blade takes a scary edge. The quality of it is superb, the fit of wood to metal is just sick! I saw it in the Beretta Gallery in Manhattan and just had to own it, and my wife the great enabler said it would be a good Father's day gift a few years back...
Beretta Loveless Knife
"This Beretta Loveless Drop Point Hunter is a classic design with superb quality. It is really a gorgeous knife. The 3 3/4" blade is AUS8A stainless with Moki heat treatment. Overall length of this knife is 8 1/8". The blade is 3/16" thick with a full tang that is tapered for balance. The handle is Quince wood with palm swells, and the pins and lanyard tube are brushed stainless steel. The knife has outstanding fit and finish throughout. It is made and hand finished in Seki, Japan. The blade is marked "R.W. Loveless Design Beretta U.S.A" and "Model 201A, Seki Japan". It comes with a brown leather belt sheath, limited lifetime warranty."
But if you like nice customs... BRACE YOURSELF! I have a Randall Model 25 comming in a week or so and right after that I have another knife that I just had built that is the knife I've been wanting for years and it's a good one. Hum, maybe I'll start a blades thread
