High Quality .357
I'm looking to buy a high quality .357 with a 6ish inch barrel, long enough to hunt with if I really needed too but not so long that its unwieldy. I know the Colt Python is highly revered, but hard to get ahold of. What else is out there that any of you would recommend. All suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Smith & Wesson 686, all kinds of barrel lengths, 7 rounds. This is my next purchase :)

Dan Wesson 15-2 revolvers monson or early palmers. Also made them in SS , 715 model. More accurate than ether listed abouve with a better SA trigger and you can easly change barrels for trail /backup to main hunter. many of them still around like mine 34 years old and can still shot 3" 100yard groups. CZ is building them again now . All new tooling but same design,no changes.

686 and the Dan Wesson are solid choices.

Ruger GP100 is another. Available and affordable as well.

Any model of the S&Ws from the Model 19s, 66s, 686 are great revolvers. One of my favorites is the Model 27 & 28s which are on a 44 (N) frame. The 27s are pretty much collectors pieces today especialy in the 5" Model but you can find them in the 6" fairly easily.
The Pythons are good revolvers but over priced in my opinion. And even though I have one I must admit I like the actual feel of the S&Ws better. However the Pythons action is great.

Obviously depending on the money you want to spend there are the Rugers both standard and western style models. They are also good guns. They have some hunting models also.

the ruger GP100 is also another fine firearm, very strong and reliable.

My 6" 686 is one of my favorite guns. I also have a colt trooper mkIII, nice gun I like the smith better. I have two Ruger Blackhawks in 357, a 3 screw and a new mdl. The blackhawk is a solid choice and reasonably priced.

The Ruger Blackhawk models set the standard for revolver strength and durability. The ones I have shot were very accurate.

I'll second the Ruger Blackhawk. Nice gun for hunting and you can adjust the rear sight. The Ruger Vaquero is also a nice gun with non adjustable sights.
