Hello all. I'm new to this forum. I'm an avid hand gun owner and enthusiast.

My wife's grandmother passed away recently at 101 years young. My wife inherited her belonging and one of the items was a:

Smith & Wesson .38 Special (actually marked Special CTG).
6" Barrel
Blue
Wooden Handles
# on the bottom of the handle is C109040
Inside the yoke is stamped V 7 followed by 14887
fixed site

It is in excellent shape and was chambered with 6 .38 shells...my wife's grandmother was a tough old gal.

Sorry for your family's loss sounds like she lived a long and rich life. Was there a question about the pistol? S&W offers history of a pistol for a price. Pictures would help if you want free advice concerning what model the pistol is. Value is always subjective, if it's been in the family a long time best it stays there as part of family history as the value of the pistol rarely measures up to family history.
