Clayborn,
Yes, they are nice! However, they are nickel plated, not stainless. Don't have my Blue Book available to tell you exact years of production, but, about 1976 - 1986 would be a good guess Here's a pic of my 1980 model. One of my 9 H&R convertibles. I believe H&R offered a total of 5 different 22/22 mag convertible models. Model 649, 2 barel lengths Model 650, 1 barrel length Model 666, 1 barrel length Model 676, 4 barrel lengths Model 686, 5 barrel lengths The model 666 is the only one that I don't have any examples of.:( http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16252.jpg |

jpattersonh,
Nice! I have a 1980 standard model 976, it doesn't have the fully adjustable rear sight, or the ramp style front sight. I also just purchased a deluxe model like yours, but I am in the hospital, and haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, it is a 1980 model also. Here's a pic of my standard model. http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16262.jpg |
Here's some more convertibles
1980 model 686 4.5" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../DSCN16162.jpg 1980 model 686 5.5" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16172.jpg 1980 model 686 7.5" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16182.jpg 1980 model 686 12" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16192.jpg |

Thanks, here's the rest of my convertibles
1982 Model 686 10" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16202.jpg 1980 Model 649 5.5" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16232.jpg 1980 Model 649 7.5" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g.../dscn16242.jpg 1980 model 676 12" http://i543.photobucket.com/albums/g...mmyjoe/676.jpg Still have 4 to go to get 1 of all the H&R convertibles ever offered. 3 barrel lengths of the 676, and the model 666. They are getting harder, and harder to find! |
