Default Grips for my Hy Hunter....

Gripstraps are fitted, and I've begun work on the grips. I had a piece of black walnut:

Looks good. How long will it take for you to finish it start to end?

Nice. You're going to have an awfully sweet revolver when you're all done.

Hard to say, as I only work on it a few hours then lay it aside. Hopefully will finish it in about of month elapsed time. Actual working time maybe a couple of days.

I have never made pistol grips. I did make a stock for an SKS. I cut the stock out and fitted it to the gun. After I got several coats of linseed oil on the stock. I put it back on the gun to see how it was going to look. The stock didn't fit any more! Lucky for me all the areas that needed to be refitted were not exposed. I refitted the stock and every thing went well from there. I would double check to avoid any rude surprises.

The grips will look nice on your new gun. I hope you get many years of use out of your new revolver.
