This is the inside of my left side grip. It's a very small diameter maybe an inch long pin. Idk what it's for but it rests in the horizontal slot at the bottom of the grip

Ah cool, that is probably to remove your front site. At least that's the only thing I can think of. There is a hole right above the muzzle. stick that pin in there and push

The pin is to remove the spring located underneath the grips.

Ive always been told to use a punch to remove the front sight because it takes quite a bit of force to remove.

The pin is there to remove the mainspring. Cock the hammer, insert pin into hole on bottom of mainspring, release hammer, then you can remove it. You can look up videos on youtube that will show you complete disassembly. Have fun, you'll absolutely love that gun. I've had mine for a few weeks now and haven't regretted the purchase for a second!

Where can I get the old grip! Might ruffle some feathers, but I can't stand the Hogue grip. Everywhere is sold out... who knows where the secret stash is of the basic, wood panel grip? I'll trade my Hogue straight up for it.

try the Ruger section or the classifieds here on the forum. maybe you can get more responses there and someone can help you out.
