There is a white outline on the rear sight, but the front sight is solid black.

Yes but you had said you put bright green nail polish on yours, that's what I was wanting to see.

Also I just got off the phone with tooltech and they said they'd put a custom trijicon 3 dot night sight on the gp100 for 340 or just the front for 110. Doesn't seem too bad for warrantied professional labor with a 12 year warranty on the sights illumination. Unfortunately it looks like my sw40ve is stuck with factory sights though

The cylinder carriage is the weak spot on the GP 100. Don't let anyone load unload your gun. The first thing they will do is flip the cylinder back and forth. I won't let anyone shoot my Dan Wesson 15-2 because of that behavior. I am letting them shoot a piece of history and they treat it like a toy. Imagine what they will do to your GP-100.

Unless you plan on carrying the GP-100 get a 6" barrel. People say what they may but the extra sight plane is great asset. Not to mention having enough barrel to allow the gasses to burn and expand.

I forgot to mention ammo for a 357. Using the chart from Ballistics 101 Fiocchi 125 gr ammunition gives you the best bang for your buck. Only Cor Bon and Double tap sell ammo that will deliver 1600 FPS from a 4" barrel. From a 6" barrel you get around 1650 FPS with Fiocchi ammunition. You get top dollar performance from an inexpensive brand of ammo with Fiocchi.

This was the best picture I could of it. It works well for me and didnt have to change the front sight. It cost me like $2 for the polish and 10 minutes of my time. I also did it to my Glock.

I use fingernail polish on my Ruger Pistols. I can change colors to suit conditions. White gets lost in the snow. Green gets lost in lush greenery of summer. Red gets lost in the leaves of fall. With a little fingernail polish remover I can change the color of my front sight in less than 30 minutes. My rugers are single actions with the sight soldered on the barrel. You can put a fiber optic sight on your GP-100 with a screwdriver. A friend has fiber optic sights on his GP-100. They are very easy to see.
