Good deal OC 357, if you feel comfortable with those loads then, you are confident with them. They should be your go to loads. Practice is a good thing.

Nothing replaces good practice!

I have always favored .357 Magnums. Not just because they shoot .38 Specials, but it's a nice size in general. You can have massive power, or shootability with .38 Specials.

I bought this Taurus Model 85 .38 Special specifically for my concealed carry weapon. The Federal .38 Special +P+ ammo is almost the power of a good quality .357 Magnums. Unfortunately, the recoil in the light-weight M85 begins to be substancial on the Federal +P+ rounds.

For my carry ammo, I use Hornady CRITICAL DEFENCE FTX ammo. This is a 110 grain modified hollow point bullet. It has about the same recoil as normal .38 Specials, but it's supposed to be able to penetrate clothing without expanding, then open up when it hits flesh & organs. WHO KNOWS, it could be just another gimmic to sell high-priced ammo. I hope I never have to find out...

I haven't updated this photo to include my M85 yet, but you get the idea!

Default Love my .357!

Nice wheel gun collection! Also, nice recent purchase, too! Everyone jibber-jabbers about the reliability of Taurus autos back-and-forth but their revolvers are just great. At least, mine has been! I love my stainless Model 65 .357 for the same reasons everyone else here has mentioned.

It's my nightstand gun loaded with .357 Magnum Golden Sabers. The first few zombies through the door are gonna WEAR IT if I get that thing up and working. At the same time I can run .38 Special through it and not have helicopters from Quantico buzzing my back yard range trying to figure out what I'm up to.

And before anyone says anything, YES my accuracy improved when I shot with my tongue hanging out...dang photographers with their bad timing...

Josh

I have always favored wheelies but everyone needs several autoloaders too. That way, whatever ammo you happen to find can be added to your arsenal.
