I've had a smith and wesson model 65-2 for a little while now and have been curious about these markings. The insides of both grip panels have a "PC" stamped in, a number written in marker, and what appears to be a serial number also stamped on the right grip panel (not the same number on the butt). there are also several extra marks on the grip frame near the butt, covered by the grips, one looks like a serial number (again doesn't match the butt number, or the grip number, and in what appears to be almost random placement "B4", "B2", "S", and "3" on the left side, a 4 digit number on the right that again matches no other number on the gun, along with an H within a circle, and a D within a triangle. the number on the yoke matches the number on the left side of the grip frame with an additional "B4". anyone have any ideas? The cylinder is recessed and chamfered for moon clips, and the trigger is most excellent, best I've ever felt. I have high hopes, please someone tell me honestly that this is a performance center gun! I would be pretty happy. I've looked for these markings and can't find them anywhere.
