I got a call from my gun shop today, they are going to reimburse me for the faulty Judge, I stopped by today to sign all the documents and browse their wheelguns. There are four I really like, they are all more expensive than the Judge, but I don't mind spending a bit more money for a quality gun.
They've got a S&W 27 with a 6" barrell, a new in box S&W 10 (beautiful older model with the blue cardboard box), Ruger Blackhawk .357 (blued) and a Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt (stainless). I love them all.
The S&W 27 looks like it could handle an endless amount of full house loads, the forcing cone is just massive. I've never had an N frame before. It would be a great woodsbumming/hunting gun. But, it costs almost twice as much as any of the others.
The model 10 is a timeless classic, and I know I'll enjoy it a lot. But I probably will only use it as a range gun, because of the caliber and sights. Still, I just love its looks and it's sort of a must have for wheelgun lovers.
The Rugers are quite appealing as well, I like the Blackhawk a bit more because I can get more ammo for it than for the Vaquero, but either would be nice. I don't own any single actions yet.
What would you guys choose?
