You own a DW 357?? Great revolvers. Next thang you do is sign up at Dan Wesson Forum. There you can learn about the model you have and most of the history of it. Also well find that a couple of forum members thaere make custom grips, barrels ,shrouds, sites, sprrings tools and so on and so on. If the one you have is in good or better shape you may never own a more accurate handgun. Look where yours was make, its on the right lower front of the frame. maybe monson, mass or plamer. The serial number, type of finish, barrel lenght, type of sightes and pay attention to the end of the barrel as the most come off with a nut for cleaning or changeing to a different length. read up . Now tell us what you can about it other than it being a DW, Post a photo.

Dan Wesson Firearms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for your specific gun, What model number do you have? There are a few different varieties. Perhaps a picture.
The older Monson built guns are the most desirable. While they never achieved the popularity of the big brands. They are very good guns for the most part, though they did have quality issues from time to time. Depending on who you ask, they are reputed to be some of the most accurate revolvers around.

I own a Daniel wesson mod 15-2 VH 4 It is a monson gun. Circa 1979 in excellent or better condition daniel wesson is the great grandson D.B. wesson Co-founder of Smith and Wesson. and whos goal was to make the best match grade guns out of the box the shooting world had ever seen. Everyone who knows about them say they are of better quality than Smith and Wesson ... they go for cheap because of low demand . but I personally wouldn't take a penny less 550.00 for my dan. And that's IF i'd even sell it.

I have several DWs in supermag calibers (.357SM, .375SM & .445SM) plus a .460 Rowland. And I recently picked up a pre-CZ 1911 in .45acp. All are great guns.

I'll pick up the .357 when the right opportunities arrises.

Here's the Dan Wesson forum page, just go there and sign up! It's a great place for all things Dan Wesson. http://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/

You'll love your DW, it's one of the most under rated .357s out there and a heck of a bargain!

Thanks mes. I did sign up at dwf. The pistol is a great shooter. I love it already. I was told that it's a model 14. It has asjustable sights. It does not have a porkchop barrel. It was made in Monson Mass. and says DAN WESSON ARMS on both the shroud and frame. It also does not have the full heavy underlug that I've seen on some model 15's. The serial # is 936xx. How can you tell the 14's from the 15's? I $350 otd. I figure any pistol in very good condition that shoots like this is worth that much. What are they bringing?

If your gun has adjustable sights, it is a model 15. Model 14's have fixed sights.
Prices will vary depending on your area, but $350 is definitely a fair price, IMO.
