I've fired friend's Pythons over the years and while I'm a S&W revolver fan, there will always be room for a Python in my safe if the opportunity ever arises.

Everyone has regrets...But the SW is still running strong and w trigger job is just as smooth.

Not all Pythons were created equal. Some parts required hand fitting and skilled labor. People retire and it takes time to replace & train new people but Colt didn't lower their prices in the process. This was another reason they fell out of favor.

The adage, "Everything old is new again," certainly holds true for Pythons as they are now a status symbol like expensive jewelry & Rolex watches. In good condition, $1,500 to $2,500 is not out of line. The 3" barrel model sells at a premium.
Very true, trying to get a good one online is jaw dropping looking at the price tag...

My Anaconda I bought new in the early 90's! 8" barrel. I had thoughts of selling it, but it's in like new condition and I'm just going to hand it down...their value is just going to keep rising!

I think you should hand it down to me in the next week or two. Nice looking gun!

Default Anaconda

It just boggles my mind when I see how much Anacondas are selling for at gun shows. I bought mine new in Nov. of 1991 for $449. I do want a python so I am just going to have to suck it up when I find a nice one and pay whatever I have too. Saving up funds as we speak.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
