You will need to go to the Internet and type in "Colt Pistol Production Dates" and see if you can find a production date for your revolvers serial number. The ones prior to 1909 did not have a Hammer Block in them which would prevent the hammer from firing the revolver if the Hammer was struck or the weapon dropped. In 1909 models they added the Hammer Block and made some other improvements to the weapon. You should be able to cock the hammer and look between it and the firing pin and see a Hammer Block if it has one. Cock the Hammer and while holding the the Hammer pull the trigger. Then with the Trigger pulled let the Hammer start down slowly. While the hammer is coming down let go of the trigger before it completes the fall and if it has the Hammer Block you should see it come up between the Hammer and ther Firing Pin and keep the Hammer from striking the Firing Pin.
The Constitution is not an instrument for the Government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the Government!
Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."
