Here's the story. My dad had two of these .36 cal black powder pistols that he sold shortly before I was born. Ever since I have been getting into collecting, he can't stop talking about them and how he wished he would never had sold them. Well my brother in law and I came up with the idea to find one just like it for his birthday/ fathers day in May. Anyone have some ideas? I know it will be difficult to tell due to the similar styles they could be Ins the picture being so small.

Unless he is/was a small man the revolver pictured looks much larger than the typical .36 cal. It looks to me like a .44 caliber Walker Colt.

Haha yeah I figured it wasn't the hi-point. If it is the gun you say, what would I be looking to spend on one? There are guns shows almost every month where I live. I plan to look there.

My dads memory isn't the best. So it could have been a different caliber.

It does look kinda big. It may be the later modle put out. I think its the 1859 or something like that, the problem is that that modle was only made for a few years.

Both reproductions that he could shoot without worry about the collector's value. FYI in most states, you can have these mail-ordered to your house, as the feds don't really consider them "firearms" to be sold by the gunshops.
